ABC has issued the press release for the next episode of The Middle's final season, "New Year's Revelations", which airs Tuesday, January 2. John Cullum returns as Big Mike in the episode.
New Year's Revelations – As New Year’s Eve approaches, Sue admits to Frankie that she likes Sean Donahue and that she kissed him at the Christmas party. But she’s still trying to figure out if her kiss with Sean was a fluke or if it actually meant that he likes her. ABC has announced The Middle will move to the Tuesday 8:30/7:30c slot from April 3 as the show's final season heads towards the series finale.
The Middle is making room for the hotly anticipated return of Roseanne, the hit sitcom starring Roseanne Barr which originally ran from 1988 to 1997 on ABC. The show's full original cast, including John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert, are back for the nine-episode revival.
Roseanne followed the lives of the working-class Conner family in Lanford, Illinois as they struggled to get by. Memorable faces from the show's run, including Sandra Bernhard and Estelle Parsons, are set to guest star. Johnny Galecki, who starred in Roseanne for three seasons and now stars in The Big Bang Theory, will also feature in an episode.

ABC has announced The 200th episode of The Middle, "The 200th", which will air Tuesday, December 5. Brian Doyle-Murray returns as Mr. Ehlert in the episode.
The 200th – “The Middle” celebrates its milestone 200th episode! When Orson is named as one of the top 200 most livable cities in Indiana, Frankie is reminded that she has to come up with something to place in the time capsule that will be buried in the base of the newly rededicated Orson Cow. ABC has ordered an additional two episodes of The Middle's ninth and final season.
The Middle has frequently seen a 22-episode order upped to 24, with its first seven seasons all running that long. The Middle's eighth season featured 23 episodes.
The Middle's ninth season is still in production with the show recently taping its 200th episode.
With the additional two episodes, The Middle will have produced 215 episodes by the time it comes to an end in the spring.
