"Heck's Best Thing" was watched by 9.41 million people, down by around 700,00 from last week's episode, and scored a 6.1/10 rating in households. In the key adults 18-49 demographic, The Middle scored a 3.0/9 rating, down from last week's 3.2/10. The Middle finished well ahead of Survivor in the adults 18-34 and women 18-43 demographics.
