Last night's episode of The Middle finished a solid third place behind the World Series on Fox and CBS's Survivor.
"The Test" was watched by 9.03 million people, up by around 160,000 people from last week, and scored a 6.4/10 rating in households. The scored a 2.9/9 rating in the important adults 18-49 demographic, flat on last week. The Middle finished third in total viewers, households and viewers 18-49.
In the women 18-49 demographic, perhaps unsurprisingly, The Middle beat sports on Fox to the #1 spot. The show also enjoyed success the #1 regular program in its slot with adults 18-34 and was also the time-slot's highest rated broadcast with teens 12-17.

Meanwhile, Axl pretends to be sick to avoid a school test, but must later convince Frankie he's well enough to go to a party that evening. Sue and her ex-sort-of-boyfriend Brad volunteer to perform a school skit about the dangers of texting while driving, while Brick starts spouting off Shakespearian quotes.
