The Middle moves as Roseanne returns to ABC

ABC has announced The Middle will move to the Tuesday 8:30/7:30c slot from April 3 as the show's final season heads towards the series finale.

The Middle is making room for the hotly anticipated return of Roseanne, the hit sitcom starring Roseanne Barr which originally ran from 1988 to 1997 on ABC. The show's full original cast, including John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert, are back for the nine-episode revival.

Roseanne followed the lives of the working-class Conner family in Lanford, Illinois as they struggled to get by. Memorable faces from the show's run, including Sandra Bernhard and Estelle Parsons, are set to guest star. Johnny Galecki, who starred in Roseanne for three seasons and now stars in The Big Bang Theory, will also feature in an episode.
