Wednesday's new episode of The Middle finished a strong second in the ratings in the key 18-49 demographic, and a solid third in viewers.

This week's episode, "Major Anxiety", had an audience of 7.70 million people, adding 280,000 viewers over the previous episode. The Middle was third, behind CBS's Survivor and NBC's The Mysteries of Laura, in viewers.

The Middle rose to second place, behind Survivor, in the 18-49 demo with a 2.1/7 rating, nudging up a tenth from the week before.
