Wednesday's episode of The Middle posted week-to-week gains in the ratings to finish a solid third in the ratings for its time slot.

This week's episode "Winners and Losers" had an audience of 8.27 million people, adding 550,000 people from last week. The Middle recorded a 2.3/7 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, up from 1.9/6 last week. The Middle finished third, behind Fox's American Idol and CBS's Survivor, in all key ratings metrics.
