Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond) could be set to guest star in the hour-long third season premiere of The Middle. Speaking to TV Guide Magazine, The Middle co-creator Eileen Heisler said "It's looking promising" that Romano, Patricia Heaton's former on-screen husband, will guest star on the show.
Speaking about how Romano would be worked in to the show, Heisler told TV Guide that he would likely play "Someone from Frankie and Mike's past we'd see in flashback interfering with their honeymoon." Patricia Heaton added "If you have Ray, you want it to be organic and make sense, and this would. I think he'll have a blast!"
Ray Romano and Patricia Heaton starred as husband and wife in the popular CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond for nine years. Heaton and the show's producers had previously signalled their desire to have Romano guest star on The Middle. Romano has lately been starring on the TNT series Men of a Certain Age, which he also writes and produces.
